Do you love homemade and homegrown items? Are you looking for a place to relax on a Thursday evening? Shop for those Mississippi-grown items at the Laurel Farmers Market, and then relax with some live music and a movie night on the FINAL Downtown Thursday of the summer!

This Thursday, July 14, will be our last Downtown Thursday of the summer! First, join us for the farmers market and live music featuring Charayana & Band from 5 to 8 PM. Then, settle down in the back lot to enjoy an outdoor movie night featuring Encanto.

Everyone has had so much fun on Downtown Thursdays, and we don’t want you to miss your chance to join in on the fun! Summertime fun in Downtown Laurel has begun and we would like you to join in on our fun this summer! School is out, vacations are beginning, and there are so many fun activities and events happening soon. Let’s take a peek into what summertime fun in downtown will look like this year.

Wine Down Downtown

Everyone’s favorite event is back for the summer on June 17th, July 22nd, & August 19th from 5-8 PM! There will be plenty of wine to taste throughout the downtown area, late-night shopping, live music, and fun for the whole family to join in on. Live in Laurel

The final Live in Laurel free, live music concert of the spring concert series will take place on June 11th in the TrustMark Art Park featuring Grits & Greens from 2-5 PM! Grab a cool drink, bring a chair, and relax to the sound of live music in the summertime air.

Downtown Thursdays:

Downtown Thursdays will begin with the Laurel Farmers Market from 5-8 PM and will keep rolling on with a family-friendly movie at The Backlot. Come have some summertime fun in Downtown with a really great lineup of movies! http://laurelmainstreet.com/downtown-thursdays/

Mississippi Made Event

Laurel Mercantile’s Mississippi Made Events will be hosted on June 11th & September 3rd from 9 AM-3 PM! This is your chance to support Mississippi‘s best local makers at their vendor booths in the Mercantile Front Yard.

“Matilda the Musical”

Laurel Little Theatre wraps up its 61st season with the hit musical, “Matilda the Musical” on June 2nd & 3rd at 7:30 PM, June 4th at 2 PM and 7:30 PM, and June 5th at 2 PM at LLT’s Downtown Laurel Arabian Theatre. Mini Golf at the Library

June 10th from 6 PM – 9 PM at the Laurel-Jones County Libraries will be hosting Adult Night for mini golf with unlimited mini golf, hors d’oeuvres, & 2 drink tickets for $25. Also, on June 11th from 9 AM – 3 PM the libraries will also be hosting Family Day! For a 4 pack for 1 round, tickets will be $15 each and sold at the door, including one round of mini golf and other activities. Ribeye Sandwich Day

Head to The Knight Butcher on June 11th for Ribeye Sandwich Day and music! The ribeye sandwich meal comes with chips and a drink for $13 plus tax.

There’s always a reason to #getdowntown in Laurel. This week’s reason is Downtown Thursday!

Hosted by Agape Church and made possible by Sunbelt Federal Credit Union, this event is definitely a summer favorite. Here’s everything you need to know to make plans to hang out on Thursday evening.

What

Downtown Thursday includes lots to do! A community Farmers market with local vendors of all kinds, a free family-friendly movie night, live music, activities, and food trucks! This week’s movie is Disney’s Raya and The Last Dragon.

Where

The Farmers Market is located on the 300 block of Magnolia Street between some of your favorite Downtown businesses and eateries! Downtown Movie Night is held in the Backlot–in the parking lot located behind the Kress building. It’s one right turn off Magnolia street. Look for the silo!

When

The Farmers Market begins at 5 PM, however the streets are blocked off much earlier in the day. It ends at 8, when Downtown Movie night begins in the Backlot.

This event is the perfect way to spend your summer evening in Downtown Laurel. Get out, support our local farmers and vendors, our Downtown, and the community!

The temperatures are rising and school’s out for summer! Everyone is looking forward to the longer days and activities that summer brings. A favorite summertime event in Laurel is “Downtown Thursday,” a series of family-friendly evenings every Thursday night beginning May 30 and lasting until June 27. Friends from all over Mississippi and beyond are welcome to attend this exciting, fun-filled season of fresh produce, live entertainment, movies, and community.

The evenings will kick off with a Farmers Market from 5-8 p.m. and will continue with a family-friendly movie at The Backlot. Each night will feature live music on the Coca-Cola Main Stage outside of Southern Antiques, along with great food and endless fun.

The Laurel Farmers Market

The Laurel Farmers Market is definitely not your usual farmers market! It offers a street fair environment with something different going on each week, with kids’ activities, food trucks, and live music! At its new location on North Magnolia Street, the Laurel Farmers Market will be open for business from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. under the lights of downtown. Aside from stocking up on fruits, vegetables, and an assortment of homemade foods, visitors to this market can also stop by the many merchants along Magnolia Street and the entire downtown. This seasonal market attracts local farmers, gardeners, artisans, and craftsmen, resulting in an impressive variety of merchandise. Check out the Laurel Farmers Market for yourself every Thursday starting May 30 – through June 27.

Downtown Movie Night is a highly anticipated summertime event and it gets bigger and better each year! Join us in The Backlot at the end of Magnolia Street after the Farmer’s Market for family-friendly movies under the stars.

Agape Church, in partnership with Laurel Main Street, proudly presents Downtown Thursday! This is the premier community and entertainment event of the summer sponsored by Sunbelt Federal Credit Union! Downtown Thursday combines Farmers Market and Downtown Movie Night into a Thursday Night experience for all ages. This year’s season begins on Thursday, May 30 and will continue EVERY THURDAY through June 27, 2019.

The LAUREL FARMERS MARKET is back from 5pm-8pm on the 300 block of North Magnolia Street in front of our downtown merchants like Adam Trest Home, Southern Antiques, JParker Reclaimed, Café LaFleur, The Loblolly Boutique and many more. The Laurel Farmers Market is not only a great place to purchase local produce and goods, but it is a place to enjoy the day with family and friends. The Coca-Cola Stage will feature live music acts with a variety of genres country, r&b, rock, jazz and more! The Laurel Farmers Market is a rain or shine event.

“We are hoping to add even more vendors to this year’s market so we can provide a nice selection of goods. The number of vendors usually increases as the growing season progresses and there is still time to participate,” said Nece Hill, Laurel Farmers Market manager. The 10^th SEASON OF DOWNTOWN MOVIE NIGHT begins at 8pm at The BACKLOT, located on the corner of N. Magnolia and Library Street. This year we have some surprises to make this the best season yet! The Kick-Off Fireworks Show is back again this year on Thursday, May 30^th at 8pm! Food, drinks and T-shirts will be available for purchase each night. So, grab your friends, family, neighbors, a lawn chair, or favorite blanket and join us for a great summer in beautiful, Downtown Laurel.
