‘Tis the Season to live in Laurel

I would say our little town kicked off this holiday season with a bang. Our Christmas Tree Lighting was a huge success and we want to say THANK YOU for coming out! We had a record number in attendance, and with the choirs and entertainment you were sure to get into the Christmas spirit.

And just two days later is easily one of everyone’s favorite days of the year…the Kiwanis Pancake Day and the Sertoma Christmas Parade!

Even though it was a little rainy, the crowds seemed pleased and happy to be a part of this community we’re building here in Laurel.

Continue to Shop Small

If you’ve been downtown lately, there is an energy there that is something special. The lights, the decorations, the shops with their beautifully decorated windows…it’s all created this atmosphere that has some calling Laurel the Stars Hollow of the south. I honestly couldn’t agree more.

In the past two weeks we’ve had even more shops open in our downtown area, including the rebirth of the Laurel Merantile. This group of friends and business partners have curated a store with durable goods that are made in the USA.

With only a few shopping days left before Christmas, we want to encourage you to continue to shop small, shop local, and continue the momentum of making our town better than ever before!
