It’s been a year for the record books!

2016 has been an incredible year for our town. We’ve seen more growth and excitement than ever before and there is only hope and enthusiasm for the future. As we look back at the year, we are so thankful for this town and it’s people that are supporting it.

We held a window decorating contest in the month of December and congratulations to Magnolia State Bank for taking first place with their gorgeous window display!

Thanks to the Maddox Elementary Art students for the beautiful window displays this month. They surely brightened up these old buildings while they are waiting to become shops in 2017.

New businesses have already started to pop up all over town with many more to come.

And just as new businesses are coming, there are ones that have stood the test of time here in our downtown. We are proud of each and every one. This Main Street Minute video highlights one of Laurel’s oldest businesses, Lott Furniture Company. If you haven’t stopped in lately to see all of the fantastic things the Rowell’s have going on, definitely add it to your to do list–namely their 100 year celebration coming in 2017!

With 2017 just around the corner, our hope is that we can keep up the momentum and continue to see our city flourish! Who knows what the future holds for our City Beautiful!
