MS Power's Joe Cole Appointed to LMS Board of Directors

Laurel Main Street has exciting news to share: the board of directors has just added a new member, Joseph "Joe" Cole.

If you haven't heard of Joe before, he's currently the Area Manager at Mississippi Power in Laurel, where he oversees distribution operations and manages external relationships. But that's not all - Joe has an impressive background that makes him an excellent addition to the Laurel Main Street team.

Joe started his career at Mississippi Power back in 2003, when he was a cooperative education student in his hometown of Meridian, MS. Since then, he's earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from William Carey University School of Business.

But it's not just Joe's education and professional experience that make him a great fit for the Laurel Main Street board of directors. He's also heavily involved in his community, serving as a member of several local organizations, including the Laurel Rotary, the Laurel High School CTE Advisory Board, the United Way of the Pine Belt Region's Board of Directors, and the Jones County Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors. Plus, he's a graduate of Leadership Jones County - talk about an impressive resume!

In addition to all of his professional and community accomplishments, Joe is also a family man. He's been married to his wife Shundral since 2014, and they have two daughters, Harper and Blaire.

So, what does Joe's addition to the board of directors mean for Laurel Main Street? For starters, it means that we have another passionate and dedicated community member working to make downtown Laurel the best it can be. Joseph's experience in managing external relationships and protecting company brands will certainly come in handy as we continue to promote and support local businesses.

But perhaps even more importantly, Joe's involvement in so many different organizations and boards shows that he truly cares about his community and is committed to making it a better place. We're thrilled to have him on board and can't wait to see all the great things he'll help us accomplish.

Welcome to the team, Joe!
